20 Rejected iPhone Apps

20-rejected-iphone-appsBusiness Week has written an article about rejected iPhone apps and the implications of the knee jerk rejections. The article titled 20 Rejected iPhone Apps has a slide show of the apps and their current status on the applications store front. Some of the apps are still removed while others were reworked and ultimately restored to good status. Google has even seen the wrath of the iPhone store’s moderators. Google Latitude – a GPS-enabled map to see where their friends are located – was asked by Apple to remove the app because “it would cause confusion with Google Maps”. Several other apps were removed because of the adverse affect they would have on the iPhones current and only service provider AT&T. A tethering app by Netshare that would allow “users to go online with a computer through their iPhone connection”. Apple was afraid the added traffic would slow AT&T’s network. There are 18 others mentioned including another from Google – Google Voice – competition with the carrier and the now famous “I Am Rich” app which was nothing more than a glowing red gem with a price tag of $999.00. Some were removed for good reasons others questionable but a good read none the less. Thoughts?

One of the biggest benefit of webapps is no installation required. There are thousand of webapps and I have made a webapp to search all iphone apps easily on iphone. The application list is updated daily from Apple website. It includes all apps approved and rejected by Apple. It is designed specially to use on the iphone so that you can get the application you want instantly.

If you are rejected by Apple to list your application, you can submit your iphone webapps at http://ipoh.blogdns.com/. It is 100% free and searchable. Please make an introduction to your work at the forum.

All are welcome!
