My favorite reading material is not a nice science fiction novel or the latest book on PHP Object Oriented Development (although either would be good reading) . I love to read magazines. I subscribe to several as you will see later. The reason I prefer magazines I suppose is they are a lot like the internet. They move quickly and change subject matter enough so I don’t loose interest. If there is an article I am not interested in I just turn the page and I am off to something new and refreshing. Just like the internet. Another feature of magazines is there portability. You can take several in a bag and have reading material for the whole day if not longer. One of my favorite magazines is now digital only. PC Magazine went all digital around the first of the year cutting down on the frequency of publication to once a month rather than twice. I will admit I sometimes forget that I have this subscription even though they send an e-mail notification when the newest issue is available. But once I remember I can head to Zinio and catch up rather quickly.

Now you may ask why are these my favorites? I think you will notice 3 major themes or areas of coverage in my choices. First is PC and technology with PC Magazine, PC World & Maximum PC. I am a technology worshiper. Second, web development & design – .net Magazine & Web Designer – both UK publications . And finally the Populars – Popular Science & Popular Mechanics. These magazines are all informative and are at the top of my interest list. If you have a favorite in any of these areas please leave a comment. I am always interested in new reading suggestions.
