Woopra Gets Mention in Practical Webdesign
Practical Webdesign is a great web development magazine published by a group of our friends in the UK. Known as ‘.net’ on it’s home shores – rebranded in the states for obvious reasons – the magazine caters to developer and designer alike with tutorials, articles and news. As I was perusing through issue 179, I found a mention of Woopra – a great blog plugin/application used to provide site/blog statistics, analysis, visitor geographical information and so much more.
I was first introduced to Woopra at WordCamp Dallas back in March 2008 by one of the presenters John P(ozadzides). He is the President and CEO of iFusion Labs, the parent company of Woopra. All of the WordCamp Dallas attendees received a Personal Invitation Code to try the Woopra Beta.
Here is what Practical Webdesign had to say about Woopra:
If you can’t amass enough stats about your traffic, this free web tracking and analytics app might just be what you’re looking for. It’s in real time, very detailed and even lets you chat to site visitors. It runs on a well designed desktop client but is still in private beta.

The Beta Meter section of the magazine rates Woopra a 65% chance of survival. Only time will tell but with the onslaught of blogging and the need for sites to know their traffic patterns to monetize properly, I don’t see tools like this going away. Let’s hope Woopra finds its own model to make money so they can continue development. Good Luck WOOPRA!
Visit Woopra.com and sign up for an account. It has a WordPress plugin as well as plugins for other blogging/CMS applications that assist in statistics gathering.
